    Description

    Duties * You will direct and coordinate the efforts of all Alteration Installation Team (AIT) work, work controls, AIT testing, and ships force training in accordance with technical code requirements.

    * You will establish and execute preplanning for the Alteration Installation Team's (AIT) portion of a project. * You will review and use the work package as a working document to plan and schedule production work.

    * You will revise plans and schedules, as required, and coordinate day to day work operations of AIT leaders in varying agencies.

    * You will o motivate, teach, enable and empower team personnel to establish a continuous learning and improving environment in the organization.

    * You will review history of similar work packages accomplished and establish an optimum plan of action based on history and contingency plan, ensuring that the planning of resources (personnel, materials) are adequate prior to start of work.

    * You will plan, schedule, and conduct studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or support setting.

    * You will adapt analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness and organizational productivity.

    * You will develop new or modified work methods, organizational structures, management processes, and procedures for administering program services, guidelines, etcetera.

    * You will reviewing the work package, ensuring that the work covered is what the customer requests and that job orders written cover the work on the work package with the required assist trades listed.

    * You will develop a priority list of all work on assigned Milestone Key Events by reviewing schedules and discussing the work with team leaders * You will review the scope of the work and resolves problems with project planning, and plans breakdown of work to ensure team leaders can effectively control and execute an efficient manner.

    * MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

    * You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

    * Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

    * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.

    You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

    Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with experience planning, scheduling, and coordinating ship alteration, overhaul, or repair operations; conducting studies, analyzing data, and developing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of shipyard production operations.

    This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
