    Job Description

    We seek a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team at Richard M. Seldes, MD. These part-time positions encompass patient care management through initial, follow-up, and post-operative consultations, as well as providing first assistant services during orthopedic surgeries, including arthroscopies and total joint replacements (shoulder, hip, knee elbow, and ankle) in hospital and surgical center settings. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in orthopedic surgery, excellent surgical assisting skills, and a deep commitment to delivering the highest level of patient care.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage patient history, perform comprehensive physical assessments, and develop treatment plans.
    • Conduct initial patient consultations, and follow-up visits, and manage post-operative care.
    • Assist in pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery of patients.
    • Collaborate with Dr. Seldes and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
    • Serve as surgical first assistant in various orthopedic procedures.
    • Handle surgical instruments and assist in invasive and non-invasive orthopedic procedures.
    • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, post-operative care, and ongoing health management.

    Qualifications

    • Valid New Jersey licensure as a Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner.
    • Graduation for accredited PA and NP programs.
    • National certification as a PA (NCCPA) or an NP (ANCC or AANP), for PAs, a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Orthopedics is desirable.
    • Proven experience as a surgical first assistant, preferably in orthopedic surgery involving arthroscopies and joint replacements.
    • Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures as it pertains to orthopedic surgery.

    Additional Requirements

    • Ability to provide coverage at various locations within Hackensack, NJ, and potentially nearby areas in Bergen County.
    • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability to work varied hours and on-call as needed.

    Compensation

    Salary: The starting salary for this position is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
