    SUMMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:

    The Quality Engineer is responsible for handling all product quality requirements and some reliability requirements as required for NMBTC products.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Claim Investigation – Investigate customer claims and report to our Factory, Engineering, and HQ for further investigation and countermeasures.
    • Failure Analysis & Reporting – Perform and/or Coordinate failure analysis/corrective action on all products using 8D problem-solving methods as required.
    • Compliance Duties and Responsibilities:
      • ISO Compliance Procedures - Review, update and maintain ISO procedures as required
      • Internal Auditing – Perform the duties and responsibilities of an Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor for the QMS as required.
      • Environmental and Quality Certificates – Coordinate with HQ/Factories in providing CMRT, ROHS, REACH, C of C, and Quality/Environmental/Health & Safety Certification as required.
      • External Corrective Action Request - Issue 8D corrective action requests to external suppliers as required. Track, review, and approve the 8D report for closure.
      • Identify Improvement Opportunities - Identify issues/potential issues for process/product improvement opportunities and make recommendations to the responsible Product Organization/Department for implementation as required.
    • Product Quality Support Duties and Responsibilities:
      • Sorting/Rework – Manage sorting/rework activities at Customer sites/In-house/3rd Party WHs, including utilization of 3rd party manpower/rework house including proving necessary training to operators.
      • Sorting/Rework Tracking & Reporting - Track and report sorting/rework activities including all costs monthly.
      • Re-work Instructions – Generate work instructions for re-work/sorting activities as required.
    • Duties and Responsibilities on Customer Requirements:
      • Customer Product/Process Qualification Requirement Related to Quality – Communicate and coordinate with Engineering and/or Factories the Customer requirements regarding APQP, PPAP, and any other Product Qualification Requirements related to Quality, including communicating with Customer directly regarding the quality requirements, as required.
      • Customer Requirement Review – Review customer quality requirements, fill out and/or coordinate completing Customer Quality Questionnaires and Quality Audit Checklists, as required.
      • Quality Reports for Customers – Review and provide factory quality reports and other related quality information to customers monthly or as required.
      • Customer On-site Factory Audit Support – Assist our factories during Customer On-site audits as required.
    • Monthly Summary Reporting – Provide a monthly summary report of quality activities and status.
    • Perform other duties as related to the job function as required

    JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS/COMPETENCIES:

    • 4 Year Degree preferred; Mechanical/Electrical/Quality Engineering
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience working with Electro-mechanical assemblies in Industrial/Manufacturing Process/Quality Engineering
    • Good knowledge of Automotive Requirements: PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, and FAI & 8D Problem Solving Steps
    • Good knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

    No Supervisory qualifications are required for this position.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    A normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office, and ability to conduct a normal amount of work on a computer.

    SALARY

    At NMB, the pay band for this role is between $70,067.00 and $105,101.00 annually, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay is a part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range of the pay band process.
