    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) position at a long-term care (LTC) facility, requiring an active IL RN license and IV certification prior to start.

    Responsibilities

    • Skilled Nursing and Rehab units within a long-term care (LTC) facility, functioning similarly to a Med/Surg environment
    • Patient population includes dementia and post-surgical residents receiving specialized medical and rehabilitation care
    • Patient ratio of up to 20 residents per nurse, with an average daily census of 72
    • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
    • Every other weekend required upon request of the facility
    • No on-call requirements
    • Charting via PowerChart; PowerChart experience is preferred
    • Free parking available on-site
    • Responsibilities include providing primary care, IV medication administration, and wound care to dementia and post-surgical residents
    • Works closely with CNAs and HCAs as part of the care team
    • Lifting equipment is used; comfort with specialized lifting equipment is expected
    • Scrub color requirement: any shade of blue
    • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
    • Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
    • Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
    • Travelers may work up to 18 months consecutively, after which a 3-month break is required
    • RTO must be requested and approved at the time of submission; RTO will not be approved after an offer is extended
    • No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
    • Cannot take every holiday off — holiday coverage is expected
    • Call-outs must be communicated with more than 24 hours advance notice

    Requirements

    • Active IL RN license required (must be in hand at time of consideration)
    • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and IV Certification (IV Cert must be obtained prior to start)
    • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
    • Strong Med/Surg and acute care experience is helpful but not required
    • Dementia care training or experience is highly recommended
    • Excellent customer service skills are essential
    • Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
