- Partner and provide support to families of infants or toddlers with a disability so that the child can develop to their fullest potential and participate functionally within their family and community.
- Works as member of team, partnering with the family, to gather, organize, analyze, interpret, and accurately report on information from multiple sources to plan and administer an individualized evaluation/assessment.
- Refers and provides access to other community resources based on evaluation/assessment results.
- Develops IFSPs that clearly outline family supports, individualized strategies, and relevant services that work toward outcome achievement in a variety of settings that can be independently followed and maintained by the families.
- Maintains, in partnership with the family, consistent communication with EI team, medical, and community contacts.
- Coaches caregivers with strategies for integration into daily routines and to better understand the toddler's or infant's developmental needs.
- Conducts screenings, evaluations, assessment sand intervention services to address the functional developmental needs of an infant or toddler with a disability with and emphasis on mobility, positioning, fine and gross motor development, and both strength and endurance, including the identification of specific motor disorders.
- Creates adaptation of the environment, and selects, designs, and fabricates assistive and orthotic devices to facilitate development and promote the acquisition of functional skills.
- Provides individual and group services or treatment to prevent, alleviate or compensate for movement dysfunction and related functional problems.
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in Massachusetts.
- Valid drivers license and ability to provide own transportation to appointments.
- CPR and first aid certifications or be willing and able to become certified.
