    Position

    We are seeking a Data Engineer that will be able to turn incoming data requests to actionable items such as enhancing the Data Warehouse, creating data exports, etc.

    This person will collaborate with the Data Architect to design and build the firm's data warehouse, functional data marts, and 3 rd party databases.

    In addition to data engineering tasks, this position will also be responsible for performing Database Administrator (DBA) duties.

    The ideal candidate has a drive to understand our business and an ability to communicate complex subjects in a manner that is easily understood by others.

    Responsibilities

    Implementation and maintenance, as well as assisting in the design, of the Polen Capital Data Warehouse to support the data requirements of all the firm's business units.

    Develop and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, and data output; implement quality controls and standards to meet organizational expectations.

    Work closely with the Analytics teams to generate business insights from the source data and systems, implemented and maintained by the Data and Applications team.

    Curate custom-formatted data outputs to meet project requirements.

    Manage Snowflake environments including:
    security, permissions, cloning, replication, backups/recovery, and data masking policy implementation.
    Review code developed by other Data Engineers to ensure it meets our development standards.
    Release and deploy ADF and database scripts to UAT and Production environments.
    Monitor production jobs and processes, troubleshoot and help resolve issues during failures.

    Help monitor and manage Azure resources as needed including ADF, linked services, integration runtimes, Azure Key Vault, DevOps release pipelines, ADO library variables, and Azure Data Lake.

    Collaborate with all Polen Capital teams to drive discovery and requirements gathering for data management and business analytics efforts.
    Qualifications
    2-5 years in a Data Engineer or similar role; Investment Management experience highly preferred
    Proficient in SQL and developing stored procedures; Python experience would also be a plus.

    Experience in ETL processes and data warehouse design; including demonstrated success with one or more of the following: Kimball Methodology, Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Alteryx, SSIS, Azure Data Lake.

    Ability to work in an Agile environment utilizing CI/CD principles and Azure DevOps.
