    Job Description:

    Position Overview

    The Executive Director - Tax is responsible for tax technical research and documentation, tax planning and forecasts, and oversight of income and indirect tax audits in relation to the operations of our US entities. The Executive Director of Tax is also responsible for providing tax research and advice on day-to-day business issues and will work closely with the Executive Director of International Tax and the Executive Director of US Tax.

    All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures. All Las Vegas Sands Corp. Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company's standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide technical leadership and actively participate in federal, state, local, and international tax research, and tax planning activities.
    • Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations that carry tax reporting implications.
    • Identify and monitor federal, state, international and OECD legislative and statutory tax changes and evaluate the potential impact to the Company.
    • Provide technical expertise and review in regard to non-income taxes including sales and use tax, information reporting, personal and real property tax, and employment taxes.
    • Provide technical support for US income tax audits and non-income tax audits.
    • Support business initiatives by evaluating U.S., state, and local tax implications including income tax and indirect taxes by performing tax research and coordinating with external tax advisors and business teams.
    • Review and prepare documentation to support the tax implications for transactions in order to support financial and compliance processes.
    • Manage technical issues in tax returns and ensure work product is adequately documented.
    • Assess and mitigate tax risk and determine action regarding uncertain international and U.S. tax rules and application, and the changing regulatory landscape.
    • Perform job duties in a safe manner.
    • Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • At least 21 years of age.
    • Proof of authorization to work in the United States.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required. Master's Degree in Tax or JD with LLM in Taxation preferred.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy.
    • Minimum of 15 years corporate tax experience or Big 4 accounting firm or law firm experience.
    • Strong tax technical skills including tax research and tax technical writing skills.
    • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact appropriately with management, other Team Members and outside contacts of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
