    We are looking for an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and implementing efficient processes and controls.


    What You'll Do:
    Manage day-to-day operations of Politico's General Ledger Accounting Team consisting of three employees.
    Oversee outsourced accounting functions and staff including Payroll, Accounts Payable and T&E.

    Lead Politico's month end close and financial statement preparation including journal entry review and balance sheet reconciliation, in compliance with IFRS.

    Maintain financial reporting systems, performing administrative functions.
    Implement/document processes and controls to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
    Partner with Politico's Senior Tax Analyst to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
    Provide coaching to Politico's accounting team and contractors.
    Provide cross functional support to leadership throughout the organization including the newsroom, sales, human resources, and marketing.
    Partner with FP&A to perform ad-hoc financial and operational analyses as needed.

    What You'll Need:
    Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with an active CPA license.
    Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting related roles and 2 years of supervisory experience.
    Strong knowledge of GAAP/ IFRS required with experience in digital media preferred.
    Demonstrated experience with process improvement and documentation.
    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required. Great Plains and Salesforce experience preferred.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    Ability to proactively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
