    United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer who will be responsible for designing, managing, maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System to ensure the business processes and products satisfy both customer and governing body quality standards.

    Responsibilities:
    • Understand Quality Management System including electronic system and the information flow which supports the overall system.
    • Partner with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, IT and other departments to ensure compliance to requirements, training competencies, resolve issues, and implement corrective and/or preventative actions as necessary.
    • Assist establishing/maintaining key performance indicators and system for tracking, reporting, and improving performance.
    • Provide support for customers on quality systems related issues and for external and internal auditors as necessary: drive internal audit program.
    • Develop the capabilities of those within area of responsibility through teaching, coaching and accountability.
    • Responsible for successful maintenance and implantation of changes to Quality Systems to maintain certification to IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 as well as any customer certifications.
    • Areas of responsibility include quality systems, customer complaint responses as necessary, gage R&R studies, supplier development, PPAPs, FMEAs etc.
    • Interpret and implement changing requirements.
    • Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field.
    • Experience in steel or heavy industrial manufacturing.
    • Minimum 2 years' experience with ISO/IATF standards , and quality documents such as Gage R&R, PPAPs, FMEAs and Control Plans.
    • Minimum 1 year experience with Internal Quality Systems Auditing; prefer current Lead Auditor Certification.
    • Ability for occasional travel to various facility locations.

    Preferred Skills:
    Customer Interface experience.
