    Mission SystemsOperations Contract (MSOC) Opportunity for a Software Engineer (EN2)

    Position Description:
    An excellent opportunity to serve as a Software developer in the CommonServices team at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)Johnson Space Center (JSC). The position supports the development andmaintenance of the Mission Control Center (MCC) Trajectory Subsystem (MTS)software. MTS includes a suite of applications that calculate trajectorieswhich span several days or weeks with sufficient level of precision to achieveprogram goals, such as landing on the Moon. The Common Services team alsoprovides the MCC middleware/core common capabilities to the Control CenterSubsystems and User Applications.

    Responsibilities:

    • The candidate will work in a dynamic team environment and will be responsiblefor software design, implementation, testing, and user support after therelease of the software.

    • The candidate will work closely with other software developers, the users andprovide rotational 24x7 'on call' support to the user community.

    Requirements

    Work & ExperienceRequirements:

    • B.S degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering,Mathematics, or similar field is required.
    • The candidate must have 5+ years ofsoftware development experience using C++ and Java.
    • UNIX or Linux skills arerequired.
    • Object Oriented programming skills required. Previous experience withFlight Dynamics software, FreeFlyer COTS tool, and Mission Plans is a plus.
    • Must possess good oral and written communication skills and the ability to workeffectively in a team setup.
    • Experience working with human space flight ishighly desired. Knowledge of software development using agile practices andscrum methodology is a plus.
    • SQL knowledge is a plus.
    • The candidate must beadaptable to learning and applying new skills quickly. Excellent interpersonalskills, strong initiative, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are required.
    • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
