    We have an Excellent career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join a leading Company in Washington, DC / Richmond, VA / or South Hill, VA.The Commissioning Engineer has extensive expertise as a generalist or specialist.

    Provides solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

    The Commissioning Engineer team is responsible for performing final testing, startup, and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, industrial controls, SCADA, and building automation, as well as other apparatus both in the field and in a manufacturing environment.

    An understanding of sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems and associated test equipment and procedures is required.

    You will contribute to a safe working environment for co-workers and customers and help ensure the overall success of projects.

    Local, regional, and national travel may be required.


    Responsibilities:
    Originates MEP Systems (including electrical, mechanical equipment, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, EPMS, BMS, etc) commissioning, inspection, and testing deliverables and documents, including schedulePrepares technical reports related to specific design issuesUses available commissioning tools for efficient execution of project deliverablesParticipates in technical meetings with customer and engineering functional staffAssists in constructability reviewsSmall project field assignmentOversees execution of MEP Systems Commissioning inspection/testing activities on-siteWorks with MEP Systems and associated electronic relays and other system components (SCADA, PLC) via manufacturer-specific computer softwareUnderstand MEP system commissioning, inspection, and testing requirementsUnderstand commissioning terminologyBasic understanding of industry codes and standardsUnderstand basic cost and schedule considerationsFamiliar with the application of electrical equipmentCredible automation knowledgeFamiliar with the mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering website and how to find department guides and standardsBasic understanding of how CADD tools are to be usedBasic understanding of electrical and mechanical systemsAssists more experienced Commissioning specialists in coordinating and reviewing deliverablesPrepares and reviews simple electrical & Mechanical sketches, CX plans, and data sheetsPerforms simple routine electrical or mechanical calculationsAssists in review of supplier documentation for compliance with specificationsUses the electrical engineering website to access department guides and standardsBasic knowledge of Commissioning, Inspection, and Testing of electrical components and systemKnowledge of basic electrical engineering theoriesBasic power system familiarity with MEP systems and associated technologies, test equipment, etcProficient with technical writingKnowledge of advanced mathematicsBasic awareness of industry codes and standardsGood communications skillsWilling to travel to customer sites periodically

    Basic Hiring Criteria:
    Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degreeMinimum 2-4 years of experience
