    Objectives:

    This is a corporate position that will primarily focus on strategic environmental regulatory and compliance matters but may also include health and safety duties.

    Organization Structure:

    This position reports directly to the Vice President of HSE. The position has no direct reports but works closely with field HSE Managers.

    Nature and Scope:
    • Manage EM's Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems with field Environmental Managers
    • Oversee the Environmental Information Management System
    • Manage all environmental data related to emissions, water use and efficiency, etc. for use in regulatory reporting requirements, internal metrics, and external reports.
    • Draft standardized policies and procedures related to HSE.
    • Maintain regulatory tracking and inform the company of pending proposals that could affect the business.
    • Participate and manage contractors during acquisitions and audits.
    • Provide permitting/authorization support for expansion projects.
    • Oversee field Environmental Managers' execution of routine environmental reporting requirements and performing environmental monitoring.
    • Create an HSE compliance required training calendar and create/modify trainings as appropriate.
    • Implement long, medium, and short-term environmental goals and objectives in line with company objectives.
    • Fill in for Environmental Managers as needed during times of transition.
    • The position requires travel to various locations estimated to be 30% - 50%.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • BS degree in engineering, physical science, or environmental related field preferred.
    • 10 or more years of work experience in environmental (in a manufacturing or consulting setting), including permitting and compliance experience in Air, Water, & Waste permits
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to take initiative based on sound critical thinking skills; demonstrated leadership skills via personal standards of conduct, work ethics, teamwork, etc.
    • Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in the Cement Industry preferred.
