The University of Vermont Health Network Radiology Department is looking for a Clinical Practice Radiologist to provide care at its Middlebury, Vermont location.

The Radiology Department of The Robert Larner, M.D.

College of Medicine at the University of Vermont ( UVM ) is in need of a 0.9 FTE clinical Radiologist for a full-time faculty role on the Clinical Physician Pathway.

This radiologist will join the University of Vermont Health Network ( UVMHN ) to offer radiology services for Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, Vermont.

Porter is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital that provides routine, essential and urgent care for the residents of the mid and southern areas of the Champlain Valley.

Porter backs a busy Emergency Department, a solid network of employed and private primary healthcare providers and a variety of surgical specialists.

The University of Vermont Medical Center, main hub of the Network, is a short one hour North.

The compensation arrangement is competitive and the University of Vermont Medical Group provides help with loan repayments.

If a Clinical Practice Physician gets involved in significant academic activities after two or more years of service, they may be considered for Clinical Scholar appointments as extra hires.

Responsibilities for the ideal candidate involve interpreting diagnostic radiology scans for adult and pediatric patients in X-ray, CT, MRI , ultrasound (US), basic nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, and screening and diagnostic mammography fields.

Interventional abilities to assist with arthrograms, US- and mammography-guided breast biopsy, and US-guided thyroid FNA would be beneficial.

Imaging gear includes a Philips Ingenia 1.5T MRI , Philips Brilliance 64 slice CT scanner and Hologic Tomosynthesis unit with C-View.

IT setup comprises Visage PACS with Nuance Workflow Orchestration and PowerScribe interfaced with Epic EMR .

This job involves managing a variety of exam methods and complexities throughout the workday.

A rotating plan includes on-site weeks focusing on mammography, fluoroscopy, US and basic procedures, off-site weeks from a home station emphasizing CT and MRI , and interspersed with off-service weeks.

After-hours Radiology services are handled through third-party final reads with shared call coverage among 3 Porter-based radiologists.

For the right person, there are chances to practice up to 30% in one specialization area, either remotely or on-site at the UVMHN academic medical center.

The academic practice comprises 36 full and part-time radiologists who act as the clinical faculty for a 24 member ACGME -approved diagnostic radiology residency program at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont.

Teaching opportunities will be accessible for resident and medical student rotations at Porter. This is a non-tenured Clinical Practice Physician Pathway position with a University of Vermont appointment.
