Garage Mechanic - Candor, United States - Mountaire Farms

Description

Under direction, repairs, services, and performs major and minor repairs to Mountaire automobiles, trucks, farm equipment, tractors, forklifts and other power-driven equipment.

This class is distinguished from the Diesel Mechanic by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to workers in this series.

Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters related to established procedures and guidelines as are positions allocated to the Diesel Mechanic level.

Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or non-directly related work experience.

• Works under supervision, performs more routine task and duties; maintains on and off-road equipment operations by completing inspections and preventative maintenance
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options
• Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
• Receives OJT (on the job training) and updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications.
• Maintaining records of service in Fleet Maintenance system
• Must be able to work 6:00PM - 5:30AM

• Associates Degree in electrical, mechanical, automotive engineering or a related field from an accredited institution
