    Description

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Implementing activities using various techniques to optimize instructional time and achieve objectives.
    • Providing instruction aligned with current and future job requirements in the field.
    • Keeping technical skills up to date as per Business and Industry Certification standards.
    • Creating career-focused instructional materials.
    • Assisting with student placement in the health care sector.
    • Collaborating with health care industry advisory committees.
    • Working with guidance counselors to attract students.
    • Guiding students in making informed decisions about their career goals.
    • Delivering relevant instruction with appropriate occupational experience.
    • Offering athletic training services.
    • Managing and submitting records and reports to the State Department of Education.
    • Engaging in Business and Industry Certification processes.
    • Fostering a conducive learning environment with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and student conduct.
    • Tracking graduates' progress and maintaining placement records.
    • Developing annual budgets, procuring instructional supplies and equipment in line with district guidelines, and managing inventory records.
    • Performing other tasks as delegated by the principal.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Requires a valid Alabama Teaching Certificate in Health, Physical Education, or a related field.

    Mandatory possession of an Athletic Trainer license (ATC) that must be kept current during employment.

    Bachelor of Science degree in an Allied Health Science related field with a minimum GPA and a minimum of one year (12 months) experience as an Athletic Trainer.

    PREFERRED:

    Three years (36 months) of Athletic Trainer experience.

    Current certifications in CPR and First Aid Provision.

    Knowledge of rehabilitative therapy, techniques, and exercise science in the context of sports medicine.
