    Job Overview:
    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Principal to join our educational institution.

    The Assistant Principal will play a key role in supporting the Principal in overseeing the school's operations, staff, and students.


    Duties :
    Work with teaching staff on improving Tier I interventions in accordance with our MTSS Implementation Guide.

    Identify students as at risk of failure to receive support services.

    Create schedules for aides to conduct pull out services.

    Create Intervention Action Plans for identified students.

    Maintain accurate student records, parent communications records, and student progress data reports.

    Collaborate with classroom teachers, principal, and parents when designing MTSS interventions.


    Analyze existing student achievement data and administer student assessment and progress monitoring instruments as needed to aid in progress monitoring of students and to make decisions about further intervention.

    Implement Professional Development for staff and aides.

    Stay current in the particular field through professional readings, seminars, workshops, and conventions.

    Hold MTSS meetings with staff on identified students every 6 weeks and report to administration.

    Analyze Data and create reports.

    Present data to stakeholders.

    Assist with coordination of instructional support for teachers.

    Collaborate with special education coordinator when necessary.

    Prepare local, regional, state, and federal reports as necessary (Title I)

    Remain in compliance with all Title I requirements.


    Serve as a content specialist to assist in the development and implementation of school instructional plans that align to school goals and curriculum.


    Design and provide professional development focused on improving alignment and delivery of the written, taught, and tested curriculum to increase student success and close performance gaps.

    Provide job-embedded professional development for staff through modeling engaging, standards-based teaching as needed.

    Collaborate with administration and teachers to review and develop aligned curriculum components including assessments.

    Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners.

    Conduct teacher observations and/or walk-throughs and provide feedback that facilitates teacher reflection and growth.

    Manage and distribute instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources.

    Hold a minimum of monthly mentor/mentee meetings.

    Maintain mentor/mentee logs.

    Coordinate the administration of all statewide assessments including preparation before and follow up after testing windows.

    • MStep (April and May)
    • NWEA (September, January, April and May)
    Assure the accurate completion of all testing documentation.

    Assure that students with testing accommodations receive those accommodations and are tested appropriately.

    Create testing schedules for all classrooms.

    Create school data reports after each assessment.

    Coordinate completion of tests for absent students and approved retakes.

    Conduct, and compile information from, periodic surveys of school stakeholders, , to find areas where communication and programs can be improved to raise overall satisfaction

    Actively participate in school committees and meetings to develop professional knowledge

    Attend, plan and participate in additional after-school meetings, professional development, and community-building events

    To maintain school-to-home information for families according to our Family Handbook.

    Actively communicates to the school community through weekly newsletter.

    Attend SVSU and Wayne RESA Meetings as needed.

    Other duties as assigned.

    $70, $80,000.00 per year
