    Position: Welder/Fabrication Supervisor

    Pay: $60,000

    Job Location: Surprise, AZ

    Overview:

    Welder/Fabrication supervisor is responsible for overall production in welding/fabrication dept. Will manage the team, quality of their work and productivity. Responsible for MIG welding carbon steel and fabricating products from variety of materials. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time. Bend, kneel, twist and squat as needed to perform the essential functions of the position.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage manufacturing team: product quality, efficient work habits and timely completion of work orders.
    • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity, quality, reduce costs, scrap and product rework
    • Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Take corrective action on a timely basis. Consult with HR as appropriate.
    • Cross train multiple employees on various equipment to reduce downtime.
    • Direct and coordinate programs essential to manufacturing and operations (safety, security, housekeeping, etc.). Implement, document, and manage equipment logs and standard operating procedures.
    • Collaborate with production manager to ensure efficient scheduling of equipment and manpower.
    • Actively produce product as time allows achieving a work-management balance - estimated to be no more than 50% of the time.
    • Perform other tasks as required by the general manager.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent, associate's degree preferred.
    • 3-5 years managing others, prior welding and fabrication experience
    • Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, build fixtures for weld products, operate press dies; knowledge of CNC programming a plus
    • Familiarity of maintenance management software, such as CMMS.
    • Computer proficiency, ability to read engineering drawings.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Detail oriented, organized, and resilient.
