Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Night Housekeeper position is responsible for completion of daily housekeeping/custodial duties in the Eppley Recreation Center, Ritchie Coliseum, Golf Course Clubhouse, Yahentamitsi and 251 North Dining Halls, and Reckord Armory. Within an assigned area or building(s), the position will perform the full range of housekeeping tasks to include but not limited to trash removal, floor care, restroom/locker room cleaning, public area cleaning, and high dusting. The evening program is a seven-day-a-week program with operational hours 12:00 am to 8:30 am. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment; to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions; to understand and follow directions; to lift and transport supplies and refuse; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.

  • This position requires an onsite presence.
  • This position's work shift is from 12:00 am to 8:30 am.
  • This position is an essential employee related to catastrophic, weather, or other emergencies. During emergencies outside of regular work hours and periods of inclement weather when the University is closed, reports to work to coordinate the housekeeping response or delivery of essential housekeeping services.
  • Job Risks Occupational Related Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Physical Demands PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Incumbent would also have to stand, walk, bend, twist, and stoop as part of regular duties. As part of staff training and skills development, the incumbent may need to demonstrate how to effectively perform overhead work and use powered equipment.
  • Incumbent may be required to work in non-air-conditioned spaces, work with cleaning chemicals, lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Work will involve repetitive motion. The incumbent will be required to inspect work, which may involve bending, stooping, walking, and climbing.
