    Overview:

    Casual SEE Trainer and Assessor - Devonport, TAS

    As a trainer and assessor you will play a key part in providing additional support to the team in the successful delivery of the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program.

    • Deliver language, literacy, numeracy & digital skills training to jobseekers
    • Supporting the team by completing Pre-Training Assessments (PTAs)
    • Be part of making a difference in the community

    The opportunity:

    • Use your experience to engage students, use effective learning techniques and maintain a student centred approach
    • Identify barriers to learning to support student attendance
    • Bring learning to life for students and use different forms of communication to gain positive outcomes
    • Conduct pre-training assessments and implement training to meet contract requirements

    About you:

    • Hold TAE40110 and upgrades (or willing to obtain upgrades) OR TAE40116 OR TAE40122
    • A specialist adult Language Literacy and Numeracy qualification or TESOL qualification preferred
    • Knowledge of the Australian Core Skills Framework preferred
    • Ability to work with Youth and other diverse participants
    • Be a driven, supportive and community minded person, working with disadvantaged learners and non-English speakers to support them in building future opportunities for themselves through learning
    • Able to motivate and upskill jobseekers to improve their LLN skills to complete education and gain employment
    • Have the capacity and desire to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment at any given time
    • Strong knowledge of the VET sector and the National Standards for RTOs
    • Excellent skills in training facilitation and assessment within vocational area
