    Overview:

    MEC, the #1 metal fabricator in the nation is looking for a Manufacturing and Lean Engineer to join our team in Fond du Lac, WI A great opportunity to have an impact on continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives within a state of the art manufacturing facility.

    Responsibilities:
    • Provide technical lean support for MEC plant factilites as assigned based on region.
    • Support [corporate / enterprise] safety initiatives as part of overall Strategy Deployment process.
    • Subject matter expert for TeamGuru Strategy Deployment software system; Technical support for all assigned plant sites w/ expectation of full utilization of the software; Track and communicate project sustainability status to Plant Manager and MBX VP.
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM): Develop VSM implementation plan for each facility within region. From the identified kaizens, formalize plant Kaizen Roadmaps specific kaizen workshop plans for each facility annually. Meet or exceed the annual number of planned kaizens.
    • Quarterly Presidents Kaizens: Develop Kaizen Roadmaps planning for and implement kaizen workshops for each facility within region. Must travel to other locations to support/lead kaizen activities.
    • Facility Lean Assessments: Responsible for Lean Assessment corrective action plan development and implementation for every facility within region. Elevate any repeat issues to site leader and MBX VP.
    • Responsible for 6S implementation and monitoring for every facility within region.
    • Cost Reduction Program: For each facility, develop and manage a formal Cost Reduction Program. Achieve overall annual operational savings, proportionate to your regional impact. Weekly review of cost reduction initiatives formalized in TeamGuru.
    • Support annual Strategy Deployment Plans (SDP) as necessary, including the MBX SDP.
    • Continuing Education/Learning. Complete key training curriculum and certifications as assigned.
    • Development of supervisory, team lead and hourly associates in lean techniques and methodologies
    • Lean Daily Management (LDM): Manage and oversee LDM for every facility within region. Monitor and audit standard KPI Boards for all departments for each facility. Ensure data is up to date with solid root cause problem solving actions. Elevate any repeat issues to site leader and MBX VP.
    • Including:
      • Hourly/Daily Visual Plan/Status Boards. Monitor and audit LDM for every facility within region, and audit standard KPI Boards for all departments for each facility.
      • Departmental KPI Boards ownership ensuring data is live for trends vs. daily goals; living pareto charts; root cause identification; corrective action plans.
      • Manage Site(s) War Room to help manage overall improvement at each site. Includes site scorecard with weekly/monthly targets; clear visual management of Execution of VSM Kaizen Roadmaps / Kaizen Plans; Escalation Accountability Board updates.
      • Daily Visual Performance Management Leadership Review process. Ensure there is clear Leader standard work for daily performance at the GEMBA review cadence supported by key functional leaders at Department and Site level.
      • Formalize daily/shift start up routines.
      • Coordinate basic root cause Problem Solving for the Departmental KPI boards.
      • Monthly Business Reviews: Ensure KPIs have effective root cause countermeasures.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in and Engineering discipline and 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role or a equivalent combination of experience.
    • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Engineering.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and travel when necessary.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Must have an above average working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to clearly communicate project performance and results to Management and prepare associated presentations as needed.
    • Proficient in facilitating consensus among diverse viewpoints withing a group, even amidst differing opinions.
    • Demonstrated track record of thriving in team environments and strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build rapport.
