    Senior Solutions Architect/Technologist – VA T4NG2

    Visual Connections (VC) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect/Technologist who will be responsible for technical pre-sales support, architecting design solutions, and providing input regarding solutions, structure, and growth for our Veteran Affairs (VA) client IT Architecture environment. VC is building an agile, business outcome-driven, and flexible Enterprise Architecture (EA) program for the Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology Next Generation 2 (T4NG2) contract.

    The Senior Solutions Architect demands leadership qualities, exceptional mentoring abilities, deep analytic skills, the ability to engage and interact effectively with clients and prospective clients, and the ability to work closely with other technologists to deliver high-quality products, services, and solutions.

    As a Senior Solutions Architect, the ideal candidate will primarily assist medium-large existing and prospective VA clients with complex technology stack requirements capture, solutions architecture, system design, and technical project management relating to federal government solutions and open-source development projects.

    Primary Roles & Responsibilities – VA – T4/NG2:

    Lead solution architecture and advanced solutions for Federal Government engagements, specifically with VA emphasis

    Define synergies between VC's solution architecture practices and our VA federal clients' architectural principles, policies, and design practices, including communication of design overviews to executive and technical management and leaders

    Serve as a technical liaison in support of VC's business development and proposal teams to help shape and frame client solutions and convert requirements into outcomes/solutions

    Collaborate with Operational Engagement Leads to manage design milestones and ensure effective design governance around crucial design decisions

    Awareness of Government resources for guiding solution architecture in the VA's environment, as well as contributing to talent acquisition initiatives, including recruiting, retaining, and training technology professionals

    Build solid internal relationships from an advisory perspective within the VA and across federal agencies to support the interpretation, solutions, and response strategy for responding to T4NG2 solicitations (e.g., RFPs, RFIs, etc.)

    General Qualifications:

    Must be a US Citizen who can obtain a successful Federal Background Investigation.

    Demonstrate a proven ability to drive complex Solution Architecture engagements at a detailed level across a broad range of engagement and industries

    Possess a track record within several large-scale IT programs, taking ownership of the Architecture and Design activities and outputs

    Have experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT goals and objectives, operating across organizational and technology teams to drive common approaches, and delivering sustainable, agile, and reusable solutions and best practices, where applicable

    Bring exceptional client-facing capabilities in working with client executives and senior management in a Primary Point of Contact (POC) capacity, including possessing the ability to construct and deliver client presentations, direct engagement with clients to understand their needs and requirements, and translate those to a viable solution acceptable to clients

    Possess working knowledge of and experience in one or more of the following sectors or agencies is preferred: VA, or DOD

    At least 8 years of experience as a Senior Solutions Architect in software/system/application development lifecycles

    Desired Skill Requirements:

    Experience with Infrastructure or Technology Architecture and Network Engineering within a VA environment

    Knowledge of Cloud AWS, Price Models, Service Models (IAAS and PaaS), and Cybersecurity concepts in the Federal Government.

    Experience with 2-3 of the following: Cloud Services, DevOps, API Architecture, NSOC, Apps Development, AI, ML, and RPA.

    Understanding ITIL, SAFE Agile, Service-Oriented Architecture, Component-Based Development, Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement, DevOps, Automated Testing and Deployment, Microservices, and Containerization.

    Strong communication and analytical and technical writing skills are an absolute requirement.

    Candidates must be self-motivated and self-managed regarding their workload and deliverable deadlines and must have experience leading others to do the same.

    Education Requirements

    Education: Bachelor's degree or greater in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical degrees with demonstrated experience. Master's degree preferred

    Certifications preferred: PMP, Agile, ITSM, ITIL, and SAFE Agile or similar
