The Secondary Market Specialist position based out of our Fairport branch (located in Fairport, NY)with Evans Bank is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing department within a long-standing and stable Bank.

    The Secondary Market Specialist is a highly autonomous position, responsible for setting daily rates and analyzing secondary market trends, processing and maintaining rate locks and committing loans for sale on the secondary market, and managing the product and pricing engine, including delivering sold loans to investors for purchase.

    Hybrid work approachAn inclusive culture where associates are empowered to bring their authentic selves to EvansA collaborative environment where good listeners with high standards thriveA growing organization where people are engaged and empowered to solve problems and make decisionsFrequent, timely coaching sessions to enable professional growthThe ability to leverage your strengths and passions while making a lasting impact on the communityCompetitive compensation and benefitsPaid volunteer time to contribute to the betterment of the communities we serveWhat we ask of you:Manage day-to-day secondary market and pricing functions, including reviewing/processing requests for rate locks, extensions and relocks; reviewing and processing repricing; generating and publishing mortgage rate sheet; preparing reporting of pipeline dataMaintain strong knowledge of investor requirements and changes as they relate to loan salesPerform routine competitive analysis of secondary market and portfolio pricing to peers and market conditionsAnalyze investor pricing and make rate/price recommendations to managementPartner with consumer loan department leaders on new investor applications and due diligence testingTake an active role in annual investor renewalsPartner with Loan Officers and Operations teams as well as outside vendors to ensure we are delivering the highest-quality customer experienceDevelop enhanced reporting for pipeline management as pertains to best execution loan sales, fallout, and profitabilityAdministration of the mortgage product and pricing engine (PPE)

    Perform root-cause analysis of any system discrepancies and provide timely resolution to system issuesExperience and competencies:

    Data analysis and/or system administration experience requiredStrong mortgage banking experience with secondary market and underwriting experience highly preferredPassion for the business with desire to build depth of knowledge and become a subject matter expert in Secondary Market functionsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, including researching information and making sound business decisionsComfort in a fast-paced and ever-changing environmentDetail orientation and commitment to qualityTime managementComfort working independently as well as part of a teamThis position is anticipated to pay a base rate between $50,052/annually and $73,410/annually.

    This rate does not include potential incentive pay and benefits paid for by the company which may be in addition to the base rate of pay.

    The base rate of pay is determined by factors such as required experience, skill set needed, business impact of position, value of budget oversight and people management, among other factors.
