    Job Description

    American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position at a Level 1 pediatric trauma center, requiring a NC or compact RN license and strong high-acuity PICU experience.

    Responsibilities
    Work in a high-acuity, 24-bed Pediatric ICU at a teaching hospital and Level 1 pediatric trauma center
    Average patient census ranges from 21 to 23
    Patient types include respiratory, trauma (penetrating and non-accidental), DKA, seizures, neurosurgical, acute/chronic renal failure, orthopedic, surgical, transplants, complex medical, and blood disorders
    Patient ratios vary by acuity, typically 2:1, 1:1, or 1:2
    Schedule is 1845 to 0715 with every other weekend and alternate major holiday requirements
    No on-call or call-back responsibilities
    Floating to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and general Peds units as needed
    Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris and Medfusion pumps, Omnicell, Philips monitors, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Artic Sun, Camino, and other advanced equipment
    Responsibilities include management of complex pediatric critical care cases and specialized equipment
    Multidisciplinary support available 24/7 including charge nurse, CNA, unit secretary, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy, intensivist, residents, and APPs
    Centralized and bedside monitoring systems used within the unit
    Departmental orientation includes NEO plus two days of unit-specific training
    Scrub color is navy

    Requirements
    Active NC or compact RN license required
    Minimum 2 years of recent high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience required
    Current BLS and PALS certifications required
    Experience with EPIC EMR and equipment such as Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino, Belmont Rapid Infuser, invasive lines, ventilator and trach management, sedation and analgesic drips, CRRT, and pediatric critical care procedures
    Competency to float to Pediatric CVICU required
    Ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
