    The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is a statewide service, research, policy, program development and capacity building agency. IHR designs its services based on an understanding of the impact of trauma. IHR's CARF accredited treatment programs provide holistic interventions for hard to reach and high-risk individuals and families.

    IHR's mission, since our founding in 1989, has been to develop and support a comprehensive continuum of care for families, individuals, youth, and pregnant and parenting people affected by alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, violence/trauma, mental health challenges and other health issues, while advancing principles of health equity and social justice.

    Our work is focused on addressing and eradicating inequities in our health care, economic, and justice systems, especially as they disproportionately affect women and people of color.

    We are committed to providing services and creating communities that mitigate the effects of substance use, mental illness, and trauma.

    The

    Medical Director/ Psychiatrist


    will support IHR's mission to develop a comprehensive continuum of care for women, families, individuals, youth and pregnant and parenting women affected by alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, violence/trauma, mental health challenges and other health issues.


    NOTE:
    This is a

    6-

    8 hour/week

    consultant position.

    The Medical Director/Psychiatrist's responsibilities will include the following:
    Development and oversight of IHR's mental health and SUD treatment protocols.
    Oversight of IHR's quality assurance program for client care.
    Oversight and review of IHR's policies and protocols, as needed.
    Development of relationship statewide with prescribers on behalf of IHR clients.
    Meet with IHR Behavioral Health Services staff twice a month for case review (one hour; 2 times per month).
    Provide group supervision to IHR Behavioral Health Services (one to two times per month).
    Quarterly review of client records for QA purposes.

    Qualifications/Requirements:
    Current MD licenses and relevant certifications/approvals.

    Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, or eligible for such certification.

    Experience in family-centered SUD treatment preferred.
    Familiarity in psychopharmacology utilized in mental health/SUD treatment.
