    Payroll Lead with federal contracting experience to join our Anchorage, AK team


    The Payroll Lead will oversee and coordinate payroll team functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

    Essential Functions:

    • Oversee and coordinate activities of payroll staff.
    • Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements.
    • Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.
    • Direct completion and prepare payroll related documents.
    • Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements.
    • Compile data from payroll sources.
    • Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports.
    • Prepare and review general ledger payroll account reconciliations.
    • Maintain accurate general ledger account balances.
    • Review and improve payroll policies and procedures.
    • Oversee the maintenance of current employee data systems.
    • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
    • Support internal and external audits related to payroll.
    • Apply new legislation impacting payroll.
    • Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
    • Effectively manage and develop payroll staff incorporating objective performance measures.

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.

    Master's degree is a plus.


    Experience:

    • 3 years of payroll related experience required.
    • Vista ViewPoint and/or ADP Workforce Now (WFN) MS Dynamics NAV/Navison and/or JAMIS experience a plus.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
    • Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal rules and laws.
    • Solid financial acumen.
    • Proficiency in relevant payroll and accounting software.
