    Responsibilities:

    The Capital Project Team Leader (PTL) - Minors and Small Projects is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end project process to ensure successful delivery of business objectives. The PTL serves as the primary interface between the Project Leadership Team and the Business, leading cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication, and driving project excellence.

    Main Responsibilities:
    1. Lead cross-functional capital project teams, including contract engineering team members, to meet business objectives.
    2. Engage with the project steering or leadership team to ensure alignment with business goals, address concerns, make project direction decisions, and provide regular status updates.
    3. Provide leadership to create an effective and cohesive team, ensuring clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.
    4. Ensure quality accomplishment of project deliverables and lead gatekeeping reviews.
    5. Identify non-capital alternatives or lower capital options in collaboration with the project team.
    6. Ensure adherence to Process Safety Management (PSM), Environmental, Safety and Health (EH&S), Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) requirements, export controls, trade secrets principles, and other core value standards.
    7. Facilitate economic evaluations, prepare funding requests, forecast capital and non-capital expenditures, and oversee financial reporting and accounting.
    8. Approve changes consistent with business and project objectives.
    9. Develop and implement Project Quality Plans, audit work processes for compliance, and meet project quality requirements.
    10. Interface on Front-End Loading (FEL) and Design/Procurement of assigned capital projects.
    11. Utilize strong computer skills, including familiarity with SAP, Ecosys, and Microsoft Office Suite.
    12. Support the preparation of documents for FEL completion and production design and procurement execution.
    13. Provide oversight for construction management and, at times, daily field contract administration.
    14. Champion productivity improvement strategies, including LEAN Construction Methodologies.
    15. Drive full integration of the project team to develop deliverables in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
    Qualifications:
    • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical Process or Mechanical preferred).
    • Required: At least 2 years (prefer >5 years) of experience leading capital projects, preferably projects greater than $500,000.
    • Required: Experience working with full-service design and construction contractors.
    • Desired: Prior experience improving performance and capability, including demonstrated courage to challenge the status quo.
