Key Responsibilities:

As an Estimator on our team, your primary duties will include:

• Providing accurate cost assessments and valuations for various Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Analyzing project scopes to compile bidder lists and extend tender invitations.
• Engaging with trade partners and team members to assess ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Reviewing and evaluating cost estimates to develop comprehensive divisional cost analyses.
• Cultivating and managing relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
• Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of final appraisal packages before submission deadlines.
• Handling client inquiries and communicating Requests for Information (RFIs).

Tasks:

• Conducting detailed quantity take-offs from tender documents and proposals.
• Coordinating the distribution of tender documents to subcontractors for pricing.
• Conducting site visits with bidding subcontractors as needed.
• Performing Risk Assessments and identifying risk mitigation strategies.
• Evaluating and comparing trade prices for divisional analysis.
• Generating comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on project proposals and specifications.
• Creating specification bid documents and establishing unit costs and labor rates.
• Presenting reports to upper management for project evaluation and decision-making.
• Securing bid RFP bonding requirements if necessary.
• Noting any long lead items on bids for project planning purposes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in construction estimating.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting building specifications and plans.
• Strong command of MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
