    Job Purpose:

    Sony Music Publishing is looking for a highly motivated Senior Analyst to join the North America Financial Planning & Analysis team, based in New York. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work in a Media business undergoing a period of rapid change and development, with a Finance team driven by a commitment to deliver excellent standards of service. You will be joining a team that offers a real opportunity to develop an expertise in music publishing and broaden an understanding of financial analysis, strategy, and operations.

    What You'll Do:

    • Build and update financial models for reporting, budgeting and forecasting purposes: includes detailed revenue models as well as fully integrated income statement, balance sheet and cash flow models.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecast submissions.
    • Participate in the month end closing process in connection with the North American accounting team.
    • Analyze current and past trends including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, overhead expenses and investments.
    • Assist in the creation of strategic and financial materials to corporate parent (Sony Group)
    • Communicate and coordinate with various teams (Business Development, Business Affairs, Digital) to gain insights into the industry and company for forecasting and strategy purposes.
    • Help to create and present business review materials to Sony Music Publishing CEO & CFO.
    • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and ad-hoc reporting.
    Who You Are:
    • 2+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.
    • Big 4 transaction services/due diligence/deal advisory, Big 4 auditing, or investment banking experience is a plus.
    • CPA license is a plus.
    • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Software applications, particularly Excel (Power Query is a plus), and ability to learn and reconcile to other accounting and financial reporting systems (e.g., Power BI, Business Central, SAP BPC, OneStream)
    • Ability to analyze accounting data and communicate effectively with senior management (including non-finance professionals) to explain conclusions clearly.
    • Detail-oriented, with an ability to self-review and sense-check conclusions before submitting completed deliverables.
    • Ability to think through issues in a "big picture" manner, taking into account broader business implications, and recommend and effect appropriate actions and solutions.
    • Follows through on open issues and meets deadlines in an efficient and effective way, ensuring that open items are resolved satisfactorily and prioritized according to business needs.
    • Consults manager where appropriate to communicate ideas or solutions, solve problems and complete tasks and projects to deadlines.
    • Continuously strives to improve performance and efficiency.
    • Some Travel Required.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
    • 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume frequently require extended working hours for evening and late-night events.

    DISCLAIMER:

    The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $95,000 - $105,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
