    Transplant Nurse Supervisor (Kidney & Pancreas)



    Responsibilities


    Primary Responsibilities:


    The Clinical Manager, Kidney & Pancreas, has primary responsibility for the training, orientation, oversight and supervision of the Transplant Coordinators and Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Coordinators.

    The Clinical Manager will work closely with the Medical Director and Surgical Director and is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of all clinical policies and protocols for the programs.

    In collaboration with the Manager of Compliance and Quality, the Clinical Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliant practice, CMS and Joint Commission Activities, as well as participation in the department's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities.

    The Clinical Manager will represent clinical nursing for the organ programs he/she supervises and ensure that appropriate enterprise and hospital training is established.

    Also, the Clinical Manager will ensure that issues related to organ call, MCS call, operating room, patient flow, outpatient care, and bedside nursing have input and coordination from Transplant and MCS nursing when necessary


    Essential Functions:

    • Oversight, supervision, and training of transplant and MCS clinical nursing
    • Act as the point person for development and maintenance of clinical protocols and workflow policies for areas of oversight
    • Maintain regulatory requirements for CMS, UNOS and JC for the transplant and LVAD programs.
    • Act as the point person for Performance Improvement related activities for areas of oversight
    • Investigate and coordinate responses to patient complaints and safety events
    • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients are evaluated, educated, and cared for post-transplant/post MCS in accordance with policies.
    • Maintain physician relationships/act as a liaison between physicians and the clinical nursing team
    Qualifications


    • Minimum BSN and Master's in related field preferred
    • Registered Nurse (R.N.)
    • At least seven years healthcare
    • At least 1 year in organ transplant PA
