    Make a Difference in Public Health

    Join our team as the Program Manager for the Fruit and Vegetable Incentives Program and lead the agency's work to improve nutrition across the state by informing partners, policymakers, and staff about the effective policy, systems, and environmental strategies to increase food security and prevent chronic diseases.


    In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing program staff, securing match requirements mandated by funding sources, overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all grant deliverables, and leading the process to develop relationships and partnerships to support our mission of improving the health of individuals, families, and communities.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Management:
    Foster strong internal and external partnerships to support the priorities of food security and chronic disease prevention.


    Engage with partners and represent the program at various levels, including national and regional conferences, to promote the impact of our initiatives.


    Data and Research Collaboration:


    Work alongside epidemiologists and research investigators to develop robust data collection and analysis methods that support program objectives and enhance service delivery.


    Communication and Advocacy:
    Present program findings and strategic insights to policymakers, community-based organizations, and at professional gatherings.


    Provide expert advice to internal partners and contribute to federal grant applications and reports, highlighting the program's successes and strategic importance.


    Work Location:


    This position is based in Tumwater, WA, and offers a flexible/hybrid work arrangement with the option to tele-work or utilize our modern drop-in workstations, while enjoying the occasional in-person collaboration opportunities.

    Will need to attend meetings within and outside the state of Washington.

    Required Qualifications:
    The experience described below could have been gained concurrently and acquired through paid or unpaid activities


    Option 1:
    Six (6) years managing or supervising professional staff.

    Experience should include developing work plans, setting direction for work, coordinating work among team members, monitoring performance, acting as a subject matter expert, AND three (3) years of consultative experience in a public health-related program.


    OR

    Option 2:
    Bachelor's degree or higher in social services, public health, public administration, business administration, or related field, AND the following:

    Three (3) or more years of professional management or consultative experience in a health services program


    Two (2) or more years or experience supervising professional staff or serving as a team leader including developing work plans, setting direction for work, coordinating work among team members, monitoring performance, and giving feedback to team members.
