- Oversees new product development from material determination, sample fabrication and subcontractor development through manufacturability trials and in the development of new products and their transition to routine production. (35%)
- Researches and recommends changes to manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and/or reduce costs, increase product quality, or provide greater personal and/or environmental safety (45%)
- Provides technical support to manufacturing to address production problems and technical assistance to customers through phone interaction or direct visits. (30%)
- Recommends and implements methods to increase the quality of services. Provides initial fabrication cost estimates. (5%)
- Manages files and drawings inventory (20%)
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Material Science
- 2+ years' experience working in an Engineering capacity in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated research and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written, verbal and technical writing
- Able to operate independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lead technicians(s) and manage multiple projects as well as customer interaction.
