- Acts as member of the clinical team to support co-workers and ensure patient needs are met.
- Answers phone calls from patients, staff, and outside agencies.
- Takes phone messages and communicates messages to the nurse coordinator or other team members as appropriate.
- Assists patients with making appointments.
- Follows up with patients as necessary to maintain continuity of care.
- Obtains records from other healthcare providers as needed.
- Utilizes time productively by addressing telephone encounters and patient documents in a timely manner.
- Conducts vaccine inventory and places orders as needed.
- Routinely stocks patient exam rooms with needed supplies.
- Maintains medical supply inventory and places orders as needed.
- Performs and documents quality control on waived testing equipment as required.
- Consistently interacts with patients and staff in a manner that reflects favorably on the organization and promotes teamwork.
- Actively participates in team huddles and assists in process improvement.
- Performs other duties as necessary and may rotate to other sites as determined by nurse coordinator.
- High school diploma or general education degree required.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Attention to detail and excellent technical skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
