    Summary:

    The Formulator (gummy) is responsible for all aspects of the technical product and process development for gummy form. This role effectively utilizes standard best practices and procedures in product and process development. Supports technology advancements to drive innovation and point of difference for the brands. Interfaces with Marketing, Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Quality, Purchasing and other cross-functional areas to accomplish project goals.

    Your primary activities will include but are not limited to:

    • Develops formulations and processes to support the development of new and novel products and/or optimization of new and existing products.
    • Conducts benchtop, pilot scale up development and supports manufacturing trials for new or reformulated products.
    • Effectively troubleshoots and solves complex formulation & technical challenges with speed and robustness.
    • Presents solutions with independently identified problems.
    • Maintains accurate records of all development projects.
    • Prepares and initiates technical documents such as raw material and bulk specifications, SOPs, technology transfer document, and any other relevant documents for the development and commercialization of the products.
    • Prepares stability, consumer, and clinical samples.
    • Conducts raw material and stability testing working with quality and procurement departments to effectively communicate finding.
    • Apply principles of nutraceutical science, process development, and engineering to translate bench- and pilot-scale process learnings into the manufacturing plant for commercial production.

    You'll need the following (minimum qualifications):

    • Bachelor's degree plus 2-5 years of relevant experience in product development in the Nutraceutical or Pharmaceutical industry, or Masters degree plus 0-2 years' experience of relevant experience in product development in the Nutraceutical or Pharmaceutical industry. (other CPG experience will be considered depending on relative applications).
    • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in product/process development, processing laboratory techniques, regulatory requirements, and a firm foundation in basic sciences.
    • Demonstrated success in formulating, scaling up and commercializing complex solid dose formulations, including hands-on lab experience. Ability to adapt to change and to find creative solutions to keep projects on track.
    • knowledge of formulation and technical standards and techniques.
    • be familiar with both lab and manufacturing equipment and processes in CPG.
    • knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate within a cross-functional team environment especially with manufacturing, operations, quality, and maintenance.
    • Understanding of product lifecycle management and associated software tools.
    • Willingly to travel between 10% - 25%.

    A reasonable estimate of the current Salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
