Principal Engineer, Software Architect - Cedar Rapids, United States - Conductor

    Default job background
    Description
    What You'll Do

Responsible for over-all requirements, design, integration and verification of the entire GNSS Software solution in tight collaboration with San Jose & Korea engineering teams (such as GNSS, AP and Modem).

This includes input/review of both digital and analog HW designs to reduce Power, improve performance and reliability of the GNSS solution.

Particular focus on all of the embedded SW related to the Acquisition, Tracking and Navigation, including interference mitigation, sensor integration (steps, Mems, etc) and Power optimization (e.g.

low power duty cycling, etc) as well as the efficient and accurate verification of GNSS solution (A2A – Antenna to Android).

    Location:

Hybrid, working onsite at our Cedar Rapids, IA office 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.

    Job ID: 42049

Expected to articulate, document and explain requirements and design for all SW teams, as well the support teams such as Test & Tools.

Expected to collaborate with customer, SOC, Modem, WIFI/BT and other integrated technologies for over-all SOC solution (addressing appropriate trade-offs).

Expected to help debug hairy problems A2A including acquisition, tracking, navigation, etc.

Expected to provide optimizations/algorithms to reduce our memory footprint, improve performance, improve maintainability and reduce power.

This includes detailed review of all planned improvements for coherency across our platform, DSP signal processing, Navigation, Aiding and Mitigation features.

Expected to consider over-all system solutions from A2A to avoid local optimization for long term success and maximum efficiency of the organization resources.

Expected to provide critical review of external influences such as new schemes by customer, CP or SOC team such as new TSX, new Clock buffer, etc where subtle changes can cause problems.

Expected to have direct responsibility for all SW architecture/integration, algorithms and trade-offs for Performance, Power.

Expected to provide requirements inputs to HW team (digital, analog, RF) for leverage by future SW features including minimization of area.
