- Administers medications and treatments, including, but not limited to: dressings, catherization, wound care, IV's, suctioning, oxygen, etc.
- Responsible for the Unit and supervising certified nursing assistants.
- Assists in direct resident care as necessary.
- Protects residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Resolves resident problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
- Maintains accurate documentation of medication administered and care rendered.
- Maintains continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Interfaces with other disciplines to assure continuity of care and services.
- The Charge Nurse RN is the supervisor in charge in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Assists in admission and discharge procedures.
- Makes rounds with physicians and transcribes orders.
- Keeps physician and family aware of change in resident's condition.
- Maintains the self‐respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each patient.
- Assures continuity of services and care.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educations workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Performs specific work duties and emergency needs in assisted living facility.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
