    Job Description

    Perform various D.A. Davidson Companies and D.A. Davidson & Co.

    accounting and financial analysis, functions and projects to ensure the accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial information and regulatory compliance.

    Qualifications

    Experience and Skills

    Bachelor's degree in accounting.
    Master's in Accounting or CPA designation preferred
    A minimum of 5 years of relative professional experience.
    Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and FINRA and SEC rules and regulations pertaining to financial reporting.
    Strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills, high integrity, and detail oriented.
    Ability to self-motivate and work effectively to manage multiple responsibilities and within strict time constraints.
    Strong oral and written communications and human relation skills.
    Ability to function in an automated accounting environment with strong computer skills.
    Ability to work effectively within strict time constraints.
    Ability to work independently with little supervision and collaboratively as a member of the Accounting team.
    Ability to follow policies and procedures and maintain client confidentiality.

    Ability to communicate in a clear and service-oriented manner and use appropriate, professional language and grammar to effectively exchange ideas and information.

    Ability to proactively work with both external and internal clients.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills to perform multi-faceted financial analysis.
    Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance.
    Successful completion of the FINRA SIE and Series 99 Exams (must be passed within 120 days of hire).

    Duties

    Perform all responsibilities assigned related to the financial month-end close process.
    Collect, analyze, balance and process data from various reports and sources for posting into the computerized general ledger system.
    Prepare monthly entries for posting to the general ledger system.
    Maintain detailed files for tracking of revenue and expense activity. Reconcile various receivable and payable accounts for proper allocation, accrual and recognition of expenses and revenues.
    Review and reconcile assigned accounts and post adjustments, as necessary.
    Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis, as assigned.
    Analyze and evaluate financial data and prepare statements, supporting schedules and reports for review by management.

    Perform various accounting functions as assigned that lead to the production of department, business unit, and firm level financial statements and reports.

    Track business activity and financial data in multiple systems.

    Prepare monthly journal entries for revenues, expenses and balance sheet activity based on their proper general ledger account for accurate financial statement presentation.

    Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly account reconciliations.
    Assist with compilation of data for tax returns.
    Provide suggestions for and assist with the design, maintenance and integrity of the general ledger and related systems.
    Identify and provide suggestions for process improvements.
    Prepare process and procedures documentation.
    Assist with audit documentation as requested.
    Assist with budget and forecasting activities.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
