- Train, guide, and mentor the billing team.
- Review and assist the team with resolving complex billing issues.
- Perform periodic audits of claims, especially with new providers, communicate findings and educate staff to improve.
- Ensure adherence to federal/state regulations

- Assist with developing and delivering staff training, for billing staff and front office staff
- Work with IT to leverage billing systems/optimize workflows, including testing and documenting workflows
- Act as a substitute biller when staff are out of office to include, but not limited to submitting claims, posting payments, claim rejections, patient statements, etc.
- Run and reconcile monthly reports to ensure timely posting of transactions.
- Contact insurance representatives, as needed, to resolve claim issues
- Identify and communicate trends and patterns in billing, adjustments, and payments
- Any other duty as assigned by your supervisor
- Proficiency in billing claims and using billing software
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

Job Summary: The lead biller is responsible for billing claims, posting payments, and follow up of denials/aged claims for a diverse collection of services and programs within the agency. The lead biller will act as a senior expert to resolve complex billing issues, train staff, and ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., HIPAA, payer guidelines).
