- Lead the development and implementation of a centralized M&O strategy aligned with clearly defined Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for all platforms.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of a best-of-breed M&O toolset encompassing Metrics, Logs, and Trace (MELT) collections, analysis, and visualizations. This may include tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and other solutions.
- Design and deploy a robust monitoring framework that leverages KPIs, leverages open standards like Prometheus and OpenTelemetry, and incorporates automated data collection, aggregation, and analysis for efficient and actionable insights.
- Foster a data-driven culture by providing clear, actionable insights from M&O data to IT teams and stakeholders, enabling proactive decision-making and problem identification.
- Collaborate with Information Security and leverage security considerations into the M&O strategy, ensuring continuous monitoring in alignment with compliance requirements, emerging threat landscapes, and aligning with monitoring practices.
- Lead a team of monitoring specialists, providing mentorship and guidance to build a highly skilled and efficient M&O operation.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams across the organization to understand their specific monitoring needs and ensure alignment with overall SLOs.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the M&O landscape, advocating for continuous improvement and optimization of the overall strategy.
- Champion a "Shift-Left Monitoring" approach, integrating M&O practices throughout the development lifecycle to identify and resolve issues early.
- 10+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience
- Proven track record of successfully designing, implementing, and managing enterprise wide M&O solutions aligned with SLOs.
- In-depth understanding of monitoring methodologies, data analysis, and automation principles.
- Experience integrating security considerations into IT monitoring practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical data into clear and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
