Description

Our client, a stable and steadily growing manufacturing company based in the New Bedford area, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team ASAP (position open to due to growth). This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to make a real impact on a growing business.

Responsibilities:

Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in the preparation and review of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements using SAP, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, investigate discrepancies between actual results and budgets/forecasts, and prepare clear explanations for management.
Planning and Budgeting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop the monthly reporting package, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Assist in creating the annual budget and financial forecasts, providing insights to support informed business decisions.
Audit Support: Facilitate communication with external auditors during the annual audit process, ensuring they have timely access to necessary information and effectively address their inquiries.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
Account Reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of various accounts (e.g., accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets) on a regular basis to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
Journal Entry Processing: Prepare and post accurate and well-documented journal entries to record financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Other Accounting Duties: Perform other accounting and analysis tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager, which may include fixed asset management, inventory analysis, or cost accounting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree a plus.
5-7 years of experience in public or private accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to dig into data and identify root causes.
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.
Experience with FP&A (financial planning and analysis) is a plus.
Experience navigating complex accounting standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
