    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Intellectual Property Paralegal to join our legal team. The IP Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to our attorneys in all aspects of intellectual property law, including trademark, copyright, and patent matters. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation, filing, and maintenance of trademark and copyright applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the United States Copyright Office.
    • Conduct trademark searches and analyze search results to assess availability and potential conflicts.
    • Provide administrative support for patent prosecution, including drafting correspondence, preparing filing documents, and managing patent docketing activities.
    • Coordinate with outside counsel and patent agents to ensure timely responses to office actions and other patent-related matters.
    • Maintain accurate records of intellectual property assets, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents, using electronic databases and document management systems.
    • Monitor upcoming deadlines, renewals, and maintenance requirements for intellectual property registrations and assist in compliance efforts.
    • Conduct legal research on intellectual property issues, including case law, statutes, and regulatory requirements, to support attorneys in advising clients and resolving disputes.
    • Assist in due diligence reviews for intellectual property transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, licensing agreements, and asset transfers.
    • Assist in the preparation of pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents for intellectual property litigation matters.
    • Coordinate document production and manage discovery materials, including electronic and hard-copy files.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2+ years of experience working as a paralegal in intellectual property law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department setting.
    • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred.
    • Strong understanding of trademark, copyright, and patent law principles and procedures.
    • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and external stakeholders.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management software.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
