The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of optical transport networks, with a focus on circuit cutovers, firmware upgrades, and configuration updates using the Nokia 1830 PSS platform.
Additionally, experience working with electric utilities and knowledge of their specific network requirements would be highly desirable.Responsibilities:
Perform circuit cutovers, firmware upgrades, and configuration updates on the Nokia 1830 PSS platform.
Collaborate with the network operations team to plan and execute network changes during nights and weekends, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues related to the Nokia 1830 PSS platform.Provide technical expertise and support to the team, assisting with complex network problems and driving efficient network operations.
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Significant experience (5+ years) working with the Nokia 1830 PSS platform in a professional capacity.
Certified by Nokia with relevant certifications on the Nokia 1830 PSS platform.
Strong knowledge of optical transport networks, circuit cutovers, firmware upgrades, and configuration updates.
Experience working with electric utilities or similar industries with specific network requirements.
Proficient in network management systems and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose network issues.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Flexibility to work during nights and weekends for a period of up to 8 weeks for firmware updates and network changes.
