Job summary
This position carries out those activities required to maintain and repair facilities throughout Alaska as well inspection and repair of machinery and equipment within assigned facilities.
Responsibilities
- Performs skilled maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment including testing and replacing circuits troubleshooting defective switches receptacles ballasts wiring.
- Installs standard plumbing fixtures piping drains supply lines paints cleans degreases walls surfaces frames finishes carpentry repairs hangs cabinets fixtures pictures drywall installationrepairs painting carpet tile installationrepair concrete installationrepair operates variety equipment machines hand power tools perform repair maintenance work maintains tools equipment safe clean proper working condition purchases when necessary equip materials operate light trucks pick deliver equip supplies may transport trash waste disposal area updates completed maintenance tasks inputs data computer maintenance management system performs required administrative documentation tasks snow removal laborer duties assigned position requires travel aircraft percent time overnight travel necessary must adhere strict safety policies standards has supervisory responsibilities other duties pertinent department unit success also may assigned.
