- Supervise and coordinate food services to provide nutritional meals and safeguard the health of students, senior clients, staff, and visitors

- Ensure Seagull Schools, Inc. always maintains full compliance with all State and Federal agencies, including the State of Hawaii Department of Health, State of Hawaii Department of Human Services, USDA, HCNP and CACFP.
- React to change productively and complete tasks as assigned
- Have knowledge concerning the appropriate operation of all kitchen equipment and ability to effectively train the employees on its safe and correct use
- Use professional discretion and observe procedures of confidentiality in managing staff and administering the program
- Attend classes, in-services and workshops assigned by the Chief Financial Officer or Chief Operations Officer
- Support the philosophy and mission of Seagull Schools, Inc.
- Responsible for preparation of food items to be served in given quantities at a stated time
- Be knowledgeable about Child Nutrition Programs and provide training to staff in
- Ensure Seagull Schools, Inc. is always fully compliant with the Civil Rights policies, procedures and requirements as detailed by the USDA
- Coordinate food preparation, service and clean up in the food service area to maintain good working conditions and attitudes
- Assign work schedules and day-to-day assignments of specific job tasks
- Provide on-the-job-training as necessary
- Supervise staff to assure that safe food preparation, service and cleaning techniques are used
- Supervise the transport of food and non-food to other serving sites
- Be willing to serve as a backup delivery driver as needed
- Inspect and maintain the vehicle, including scheduling maintenance and repairs
- Accurately complete monthly inventory of food and non-food supplies. Complete an inventory of equipment annually
- Assure that all supplies are on hand for the day's preparation before needed
- When supplies are delivered, check-in by visually counting each item, noting if specification was met, order was correctly filled and if quality of product is acceptable. Make corrections on invoice while delivery person is still onsite, return items that do not meet specifications
- Submit invoice and payroll records to the main office on schedule
- Complete the menu planning production records for breakfast, snack and lunch according to USDA requirements
- Maintain accurate records of accountability for all meals served to students and adults
- Conduct quarterly inspections at all campuses, including announced and unannounced visits using the approved Facility Monitoring Form
- Responsible for maintaining a passing inspection from the State of Hawaii Department of Health – Food Safety Program at all campuses
- Responsible for managing all records, memos and other documentation as required by the USDA, State agencies, and Seagull Schools, Inc.
- Attend monthly manager's meetings and participate in planning and conducting as requested
- Communicate with directors concerning special events that affect participation or require special service from food service staff
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne pathogens Exposure Plan and Safety Manual
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and chief Financial Officer
- Requires prolonged sitting and standing
- Requires some physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials
- Requires stooping, bending and reaching
- Requires concentration in a noisy environment
- Requires flexibility in work hours as required to fulfill duties
- Requires ability to drive and transport food to other schools as necessary

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in institutional or large-scale food preparation and kitchen management.
- Must successfully pass all required employment and health clearances (e.g. TB clearance, clean driving abstract, etc.).
- Must be computer literate and have the ability to use spreadsheets, compose documents, and communicate by email.
- Must have excellent recordkeeping and math skills.
- Must have management skills and experience supervising teams effectively.
- Have the ability to interact with staff, senior clients, parents and children in a consistently pleasant manner.
- Must have the desire to continue career growth.
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Medical clearance from infectious diseases and other health issues in order to work in a child and applicable adult center environment
