Overview:

The EKG technician has a working knowledge and skills of adult (ages 18-65), geriatric (ages 66 and over), neonatal (birth to 12 months), and occasionally adolescent (ages electrocardiography. The EKG TECH presents a pleasing and helpful manner to the patient, physicians, visitors, members of the department, and all other medical personnel. The EKG TECH exhibits courteous behavior when addressing the general public and outside hospital related agencies. The EKG TECH supports and contributes to departmental and hospital objectives by functioning as a technician in patient testing. The EKG TECH complies with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, and the requirements of accrediting bodies. The EKG TECH adheres to established policies and procedures of the department and the hospital.

Education & Training: High School diploma or GED required.

Experience: One year of healthcare preferred
