- Assists departmental leadership in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new staff. Monitors productivity and assures that staffing and resources are aligned with patient care and operational needs. Ensure development of staff. Conducts performance appraisals and participates in assessment of clinical competency. Participates in quality initiatives to develop and monitor outcomes for Mission Control. Establishes departmental quality metrics and customer service standards and training. Reviews customer service indicators and quality metrics. Monitors staff productivity and establishes performance standards.
- Coordinates and collaborates with stakeholders to create collaborative work relationships that drive performance and quality outcomes in a timely and effective manner.
- Responsible for cost-effective management of resources while ensuring department achieves patient care and operational goals. Collaborates with the management team to budget for expected levels of revenue and provide reporting on status and changes in revenue.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
- 5 years of experience in clinical nursing care required
- RN License provided by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
- CCRN PED - Cert-Acute/CCRN Pediatric - American Association of Critical Care Nurses - HIGHLY PREFERRED

We are searching for a Manager of Mission Control - someone who likes the fast pace of critical care to join the Texas Children's Kangaroo Crew.
In this position, you will have 24 hour accountability for the clinical, educational, administrative, and operational activities of the Mission Control team.
Provides supervision of Mission Control staff and assists in coordinating care needs during transport. Provides supervision of the Mission Control team to ensure efficient operations in the transfer process and management of beds. Serves as liaison between referring/accepting physicians, referring facilities, nursing staff, and ancillary departments.Texas Children's comprehensive health care network includes our primary hospital in the Texas Medical Center with expertise in over 40 pediatric subspecialties; Texas Children's Pavilion for Women, a comprehensive obstetrics/gynecology facility focusing on high-risk births; Texas Children's Hospital West Campus, a community hospital in suburban West Houston; and Texas Children's Hospital The Woodlands, the first hospital devoted to children's care for communities north of Houston.
