Senior Civil Engineer/Project ManagerLakewood NJ
$110,000 - $160,000 DOE
The Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager will utilize leadership and engineering skills to perform design tasks and manage support staff to collaborate and successfully complete Civil Engineering land development projects within established budgets and deadlines.
Work independently or manage a team on engineering projects, investigations, and preparation of plans.
Oversee and prepare Engineering construction documents for residential and commercial, and industrial developments to include: site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, earthwork, soil erosion and sediment control, and civil/site permitting
Perform design tasks, such as layouts, grading, and drainage, associated with civil engineering projects.
Prepare complex storm water calculations and reports.
Prepare flood studies and flood hazard area permitting.
Ensure technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various plans, reports and design documents
Ensure that assigned projects are completed within the guidelines established by local, state, and federal laws, regulations, standards, and/or policies
Maintain accurate records, notes and other required documentation for assigned projects
Attend training for professional development purposes
Conform to the company's standard CAD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures.
Identifying problems, evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions to peers and management
Actively manage the project team including Engineers, Designers and Drafters to ensure coordination of design effort and schedule to ensure project completion.
Project coordination with client and other consultants.Prepare written correspondence to outside agencies, client, etc.
Prepare proposals.
Assist other departments with engineering and technical support as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.
6-10 years of experience
PE License preferred.
Understanding of Civil Engineering as it pertains to Land Development.
Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations in New York or New Jersey
AutoCAD Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion
Proficiency in grading and other site development related designs
Proficiency in technical skills in storm-water management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis including knowledge of hydrologic or hydraulic software (HydraFlow, HydroCAD, StormCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, of similar).
Strong attention to detail and analytical and judgment capabilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead a team with a focus on staff development, training and mentoring.
Willingness to learn and assume increased responsibilities.
Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
