    Head Varsity Football Coach


    Beech Grove High School Conference:
    Indiana Crossroads Conference (Beech Grove, Cardinal Ritter, Covenant Christian, Lutheran, Monrovia, Scecina Memorial, Speedway, Triton Central)

    County/Class:
    Marion County - 4A (Enrollment 900)


    Qualifications:

    • Prior football coaching experience is required
    • Indiana teaching license (encouraged, but not required)
    • Commitment to excellence for the entire program
    • High level of moral and professional character

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the Beech Grove City Schools Football program at all levels
    • Lead and mentor coaching staff across high school, middle school, and youth program
    • Collaborate with the AD in selecting coaching members for all levels of the program
    • Collaborate with the AD to develop the football schedule needed for the program
    • Work cooperatively and develop rapport with administration, teachers, coaching staff, players, parents, and community members
    • Model leadership, sportsmanship, and appropriate behavior to student-athletes
    • Support and attend other school functions to demonstrate solidarity with all BGCS programs
    • Complete all NFHS/IHSAA coaches' education requirements
    • Follow ICC, IHSAA, NFHS, and IBCA guidelines and procedures
    • Promote athlete participation in multiple sports and school activities
    • Comply with all aspects of the coaching handbook
    • Develop integrity within the coaching staff and fellow coaches
    • Exhibit enthusiasm and sincere interest in coaching and working with athletes
    • Foster initiative, self-discipline, teamwork, loyalty, courage, leadership, and commitment to excellence for Beech Grove Athletics
    • Communicate with individual/team about goals, performance, and progress
    • Develop and maintain a healthy, competitive, and rewarding environment
    • Instruct individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved
    • Organize, plan, and schedule a regular program of practice in and out of season
    • Maintain an accurate roster and verify the academic and athletic eligibility of athletes
    Assist the Athletic Director in planning contests, special events, etc
  • Communicate and work with the athletic trainer and parents involving injuries
  • Monitor the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that athletes are present
  • Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual athletes
  • Develop a consistent and positive public communication procedure through the school and media to inform the parents and the general public about the athletic program
  • Exhibit acceptable personal conduct and appearance before, during, and after the game.
