    What You'll Get to Do


    We are seeking a multi-faceted Data Analyst / Data Architect who will assist with the data solutions required for the transition of a large medical supply-chain / logistics user community to a new suite of systems.

    The Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying data requirements, data migration/conversion needs, interface data mapping, performing data validation, and assisting with data clean-up.

    This position supports a long-term initiative to expand a supply-chain / logistics suite of systems to support a new global user community and the expand system functionality and data integration with other supply-chain, financial, asset visibility, and medical systems in a rapidly modernizing technology environment.

    The applicant must be proficient with analyzing business data and inquiring of subject matter experts to identify data meaning, syntax, and business rules to map to a target system.


    The applicant will work with our business analysts, developers, and other data analysts/architects to help deploy an enterprise business system to a new customer environment replacing their legacy systems.

    The applicant should have experience gathering and documenting interface specifications, data mappings, data relationships, and data structures. The applicant will assist in automating the validation process. The technology environment includes Oracle database, No-SQL MongoDB, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, and JSON.

    Employ data architecture and data management best practices and methodologies following the Data Management Book of Knowledge (DMBOK) guidelines
    Collaborate with cross-functional Agile SAFe teams to translate business needs into data requirements and provide technical guidance to data engineers for implementation
    Maintaining accurate and up-to-date knowledge of data requirements and design for maximizing database potential
    Provide technical data governance over data models and adherence to standards, master and reference data management, and transactional data changes
    Develop and maintain data models and data dictionaries for MongoDB document, relational, and analytical data structures using COTS products such as ERwin, ER/Studio, Hackolade and MS Office
    Perform data validation and quality testing for application software releases

    You'll Bring These Qualifications
    Must be a US citizen and must have (or be able to obtain) a Secret clearance at least at the 'Public Trust' level (Tier 3 (T3) background investigation))
    Experience with systems and data in Department of Defense (DoD), Veterans Affairs (VA), Logistics, Supply-Chain Management, Medical, Facilities Management, Equipment Management, or Financial Management
    Experience performing data analysis to migrate data from a legacy system to a target system.
    Ability to perform detailed analysis of information requirements and to assist users and other stakeholders to identify and clarify data definitions and business rules

    Needs to understand the use and maintenance of data dictionaries, data models, and data maps in an enterprise business software environment.

    Experience with writing technical specifications, interface specifications, design documents, and other technical documents at a high level of accuracy and quality
    Collaborative team player with flexibility and a focus on customer service
    Requires strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
    BS in computer science, information systems, or similar IT degree
    Some onsite work may be required.

    These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

    Experience extracting data from diverse databases and file structures (e.g., JSON, XML, CSV, TXT, MongoDB) to leverage in a different target system.

    Experience forward and reverse engineering data architecture and associated tools (ERwin, ER/Studio) and databases (Oracle, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, PostgreSQL)
    Full comprehension of SQL, cardinality, levels of granularity, normalization vs. de-normalization, and database and tool optimization techniques
    Possess a professional understanding of data management best practices (e.g., Data Management Association (DAMA))

    Must have a strong desire to drive toward data standardization (industry-driven, open standards, enterprise-wide) and employ data management best practices.

    Experience managing metadata in a repository or supporting a data management program
    Experience with data warehouse design and dimensional data modeling
    Experience with data quality programs, data profiling and data cleansing techniques

    Pay Range:
    The proposed salary range for this position is $74,600-$156,700.

    There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
