    Description
    Michigan Gas Utilities delivers natural gas to customers in southern and western Michigan.

    Job Summary The Mechanic will ensure proper repair and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment by performing preventive maintenance, inspection and servicing.

    In addition, will troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Other tasks include basic machining operations, critical welding, tire repairs, and basic computer skills. Lastly, will perform other related and incidental duties as assigned or defined in Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
    Job Responsibilities
    Perform basic periodic maintenance on a variety of vehicles and work equipment.

    Diagnose, service, repair, replace, rebuild and overhaul various vehicle and work equipment parts and components to include but not limited to Mechanical, AC & DC electrical, pneumatics, and fluid power systems.

    Perform Government Mandated Inspections on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
    Complete and record all required documentation and maintenance data.
    Coordinate downtime, repairs and return to service with appropriate leadership.
    Procure parts from internal supply chain as well as outside vendors to facilitate timely equipment repairs.
    Minimum Qualifications
    ~ High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
    ~1+ years' previous automotive maintenance experience.
    ~1+ years Basic PC skills.
    ~ Must possess a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL within 90 days of hire.
    ~ Must be State certified in in engine repair, steering, suspensions, braking systems, electrical systems and tune ups (proof of certification required):
    ~ Auto engine repair, steering, suspensions, braking systems, electrical systems and tune ups.

    Preferred Qualifications
    ~ Technical Degree preferred in Automotive/Diesel Mechanics.
