Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Stepdown Unit, you will utilize your acute clinical abilities and compassionate care philosophy to assist patients in their recovery journey. This position is vital for the smooth operation of the unit during the night shift, ensuring that all patients receive continuous, comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

Monitor and assess patient health status, including vital signs, pain levels, and neurological function.

Administer medications and treatments as per physician's orders.

Operate and maintain medical equipment like ventilators and cardiac monitors.

Provide emotional support and educate patients and their families on health conditions and recovery.

Document patient care activities accurately and comprehensively.

Work collaboratively with a team of physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

Respond promptly and effectively to patient emergencies and code situations.

Qualifications

Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of California.

At least 2 years of recent experience in a Stepdown Unit, with a preference for those with cardiac care experience.

Minimum of 1 year in an acute emergency department.

Mandatory current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Demonstrated clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Strong ability to communicate, collaborate, and function effectively in high-stress environments.

Capability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
